THE PRESIDENT’S HOUSE

The President's House in Port of Spain, Trinidad

The President’s House is the official residence of the President of Trinidad and Tobago and is a historical landmark that is worth seeing. It was built along the northern side of the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain between 1873 and 1876 and is patterned after Victorian-styled colonial architecture. The stone facade is a local blue limestone from the quarries of Laventille and Piccadilly, and the roof is covered with Welsh Dutchess slate.
