EXPERIENCE THE CARIFTA GAMES 2025 IN TRINIDAD
Trinidad and Tobago proudly welcomes the 52nd edition of the CARIFTA Games, a cornerstone of Caribbean athletics that began in 1972.
Just one year after the inaugural CARIFTA Games in Barbados, Trinidad had the honour of hosting the event for the first time in 1973, with legendary West Indies cricketer Michael Holding among the Jamaican athletes. Since then, the twin island has hosted in 1987, 1991, 1998, and 2003—when Tobago took centre stage. In 2025, Trinidad & Tobago is once again proud to host both the 52nd CARIFTA Athletics Games and the XXXVIII CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, bringing together the region’s best young athletes in track and field, swimming, and open water events. As the Caribbean’s rising stars take to the lanes and the track, visitors can also dive into the vibrant energy of Trinidad beyond the competition. From indulging in local street food like doubles and bake and shark, to exploring lush rainforests, waterfalls, and the world-famous Caroni Bird Sanctuary, there’s no shortage of things to do while soaking up the spirit of the Games. Check out the full event schedule and secure your tickets early to witness the future of Caribbean sport in action—live and direct from Trinidad!
THE NATIONAL AQUATIC CENTRE
Couva, Trinidad
Opened in 2016, the National Aquatic Centre in Couva is recognized as the premier aquatics facility in the Caribbean. It features an Olympic-size 50m competition pool, a second 50m warm-up pool, a 25m diving facility, and seating for approximately 940 spectators. This world-class complex has hosted major events such as the CCCAN Swimming Championships and the aquatics competitions for the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games. As a hub for swimming, water polo, diving, and synchronized swimming, the Centre continues to nurture regional talent and will deliver a vibrant, high-energy experience for fans during the CARIFTA Games 2025.

HASELY CRAWFORD STADIUM
Port of Spain, Trinidad
The Hasely Crawford Stadium, inaugurated in 1982 and named after Trinidad and Tobago’s first Olympic gold medalist, is the country’s premier track and field venue. With a legacy of hosting high-profile competitions—including the 2001 FIFA U-17 World Championship final, the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, and the athletics events of the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games—the stadium is a proud symbol of sporting excellence. It has previously welcomed CARIFTA Games athletes, most memorably in 2003, and now returns as the main stadium for the 2025 edition. Visitors can expect an electrifying atmosphere and thrilling performances in a venue steeped in Caribbean athletic history.
