Description
The museum is dedicated to the preservation of the history of indentured East Indian labourers who came to Trinidad from India. From 1837 to 1917 approximately 100,000 labourers were brought to the West Indies from India. There is also an art gallery, reference library and genealogical database in the building. There are also biographies of important cultural, sports and political figures of East Indian descent. Opening hours for the museum are Wednesday to Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
